Moore Park Real Estate
Moore Park, one of Toronto’s most sought after neighbourhood, was created by John Thomas Moore. It was subdivided in 1889 into an exclusive Toronto neighborhood for the very wealthy residents of the city. By the 1930s, it was completely developed.
Nature in Your Back Yard
The homes in this neighbourhood were built between 1908 and 1930 and consist mainly of English Cottage, Georgian, and Tudor-style residences. However, one can still find many newer townhouses, duplexes and multi-plex homes, in this well established area.
Homes are surrounded by an abundance of nature. To the north there is Mount Pleasant Cemetery, to the south the Park Drive Ravine, to the east the Moore Park Ravine, and to the west the Vale of Avoca Ravine. Moore Park homes are generally quite large, and many back onto one of these ravines.
Those who reside in the more secluded south-east pocket of this neighbourhood can walk to the small collection of local stores on Summerhill Avenue.
Shopping and Outdoor Recreation in Moore Park
Excellent shopping is available nearby with gourmet food shops and fine dining available at either the Yonge & St. Clair or Mount Pleasant and Davisville shopping districts.
If you enjoy nature and fitness, Moore Park has a lot to offer. There is the Moore Park Ravine foot path, an 8 kilometer trail that passes through the Rosedale Ravine, the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, and the old Don Valley Brickworks.
In addition, one will find the Moorevale Park, just east of Mount Pleasant Road, with five tennis courts, a baseball diamond and a wading pool.
A Peaceful Neighbourhood only Minutes to Downtown Toronto
Moore Park has convenient public transportation at its doorstep, with bus service running along St. Clair Avenue, Mount Pleasant Road and Moore Avenue. The subway station, located at Yonge and St. Clair is within walking distance of many homes in this neighbourhood.
In addition, motorists have quick access to the Bayview Extension and the Don Valley Parkway via Moore Avenue.
